A wide range of forest products is moved through the Port of Liverpool by companies with a pedigree for quality service in the trade.

More than a quarter of a million tonnes are imported by sea from worldwide sources, and more recently, by rail from Continental Europe. It includes reeled and palletised paper, pulp, palletwood, carcassing and joinery timber, plus panel products including medium density fibreboard.

Against the established import trend, Liverpool has also handled exports of forest products such as newsprint shipped from the UK to Spain.
